Akmeemana divisional secretariat is situated in the city of Galle in the North by the Baddegama Divisional Secretary's Division in the North East of the Yakkalamulla Divisional Secretary's Division, in the Habaraduwa Divisional Secretary's Division in the East and the Galle and four Divisional Secretariat divisions in Galle and four Divisional Secretariat divisions in the North and South by the Bope-Poddala Divisional Secretary Division Out of the west.

It has been reported that the name Akmeemana was later published due to a bean plantation which was in the custody of the IIth Agro field.

There are also historical places of worship such as the Yatagala Viharaya which is said to have been made by Devaphararaja a deputy minister of Parakramabahu II.Also, the Hira reservoir extending over 55 acres of land and the Eluwila Vihula Sanctuary extending over 443 acres is also augmented with the aesthetic values ​​of the Akmeemana Divisional Secretariat
